I note that your solver does the eliminations in UR type patterns rather than setting the digit in the pattern.
Is this more correct or just your preference?

Hi Zoltag
First Ruud hasn't been seen for some time, so I'm not sure if he will reply soon.
My guess is that this is because the UR does not always lead to a definite digit placement (see for example the Unique Pair in the Solving Guide). I would think the program breaks the step into two: candidate elimination first, then mopping up any singles that might result. _________________ I have 81 brain cells left, I think. |
