There were a couple of Unique rectangles in this puzzle.
This is a particularly beautiful one
Code: | +---------------+---------------+------------------+
| 59 249 6 | 8 3 247 | 4579 4579 1 |
| 78 47 3 | 9 1 5 | 2 6 48 |
| 589 1 29 | 24 6 247 | 59 3479 3489 |
+---------------+---------------+------------------+
| 79 79 1 | 6 2 3 | 8 45* 45* |
| 2 6 4 | 5 8 9 | 3 1 7 |
| 3 8 5 | 7 4 1 | 6 29 29 |
+---------------+---------------+------------------+
| 6 3 29 | 1 7 8 | 459 2459* 2459*|
| 1 29 8 | 234 5 24 | 479 2379 6 |
| 4 5 7 | 23 9 6 | 1 8 23 |
+---------------+---------------+------------------+ |
Am I right that you can't use the 29 / 29 only the 45 / 45? |

Both UR's avoid the diagonals and can be used AFAICS.
The -45- UR has a type 3 elimination:
r7c89 must contain either a 2 or a 9 to avoid a deadly -45- pattern. r7c2 must contain either a 2 or a 9. You can eliminate 9 from r7c7, leaving 45.
This brings us to step 2
r7c89 must contain either a 4 or a 5 to avoid the deadly -29- pattern. r7c7 must contain either 4 or 5. You can eliminate 4 from r8c7, leaving 79.
Those are 2 sequential UR3 moves. Too good to be true. You missed a locked candidates move that would eliminate 4 from r8c7.

I did miss that Ruud, because my eyes were set on the glittering prizes. FYI, I also ignored the hidden 5 in D/ which would have really taken the glisten off.
BTW thanks for the smiley WNE. I should have said so earlier but I didn’t because I didn't know how to say that it looks a bit cross without appearing ungrateful. If it had a straight mouth it would look more sly IMCO. |

That’s OK Ruud, if it’s too hard.
PS: The new one looks like a smiley WCP to me. |
