clueless special 99

Post by Oscar »

I found it very interesting, I could hardly make any progress on sudoku 6 (the one undrlying nonet 6 of the clueless). At the end, I finished it without going into that component at all!
Seems interesting to have only eight puzzles contributing to the solution of the clueless.
Is there any special name or designation for that kind of clueless?

sudocue found one more digit, but a lot of its skills are still magic to me.

if you take and example from another site like sudoku.org.uk
the bar across the top has example samurais...
there are 4 grades check those out,
the center puzzle is solvable without any of the others in all but the daibolical.
the samurais here never have digits in the shared corners

somewhere in the clueless page there is an example clueless appatizer in the OhSoEasy difficulty level:

clueless special 99

Post by Oscar »

Thank you for the informations Pete.
I found very interesting the link you supplied.
As for the clueless, without using the 6, I was not able to elimintate 5 from R1C4 :? . And since I have only the "blue" part of it, I can not go into more details.
Taking that elimination as true, I was able to advance e little more, but couldn't get a complete solution.
The puzzle now stand as this:
*-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*
| 1 2 7 | 46 456 45 | 39 389 89 |
| 9 4 3 | 18 12 28 | 56 67 57 |
| 6 5 8 | 7 9 3 | 4 1 2 |
|-------------------------+-------------------------+-------------------------|
| 45 1 2 | 345689 34678 6789 | 589 79 567 |
| 7 3 6 | 1458 1468 168 | 158 2 456 |
| 45 8 9 | 12459 1247 1279 | 1359 379 457 |
|-------------------------+-------------------------+-------------------------|
| 3 6 4 | 89 78 79 | 2 5 1 |
| 2 7 1 | 34 35 45 | 69 68 89 |
| 8 9 5 | 12 16 126 | 7 4 3 |
*-----------------------------------------------------------------------------*
Just finished the 100 using all resources, now I will try without one of the subyascent sudokus  .
