Para wrote:It doesn't matter what digits are there. The area is always isolated. The three holes all can't be innies as you would lock off an uneven number of cells otherwise.
Got it, thanks! :)

Didn't figure this one out yet, but one possible move: by making use of [28], the 0, 5, 0, 5 non-unique square and a possible isolation on the bottom right, you can derive a border across the [05] at r89c{10}.

One more thing. When a puzzle is loaded from a saved file or pasted from the clipboard, please update the difficulty rating and the number of initial singles!

Non-unique blocks As Para mentioned, there are many ways uniqueness constraints can be put to use. I just list some 2x2 and 3x2 commonly found patterns below (the 2x2 one is already widely known in this forum but included simply for completeness sake). What these mean is that if we encounter the pa...

Pasting grid with borders

Hi Ruud, While you are at it, may I also ask that: when I copy and paste ASCII grids like the following, paste the borders as well. (Currently only the digits are pasted but the borders are not shown.) .-------------------------------------------. | 6 2 3 0 4 5 2 | 4 8 | 9 5 | | + + + + + + +---+---...

Locked pairs, triples, etc. N cells can only be used in N combinations. Eliminate remaining candidates for this combination in the grid. This is an easy one, but I don't think is implemented in DominoCue: Hidden pairs, triples, etc. Probably easiest to say it via an example: + + + + + + + + n 2 n n...

Hi Ruud, While you are at it, I might also add that SumoCue gives "Invalid character in PS format" for many of the strings in djape.net, like the following. 3x3:d:k:1537:1537:3842:3842:2820:1542:1542:2823:2823:1545:1545:3340:3340:2820:3342:3342:4113:4113:4379:5918:5918:3340:1046:3342:5152:...

I guess, after applying naked subsets, locked candidates and some 45-tests, the key to solving this puzzle is:
Finding two large killer subsets, {6,7,8,9} in C3 followed by {1,2,3,4,5} in N4.
(I normally play killer sudokus using SumoCue with markups and configurations enabled.)

Bottom of page, it still says:
Download SumoCue, version 1.1.6
Should be a download to version 1.3.0 or whatever newer version, no?
