I know you had good intentions but you didn't have to make a post in every single sub-forum. Especially since in some parts of the forum like the Assassin part there were already posts and a thread about our new home.

Like Andrew, I think that this (fun and challenging) Killer shouldn't be called an Assassin since it's against our tradition and is in no relation to uA 99. So I was reluctant to post my wt, but Andrew convinced me to do so. The most important move was step 5k which I don't look for too often but th...

Location of future Assassins

All Assassins from 2nd May on (e.g. A 101 this week) will be posted at http://www.rcbroughton.co.uk/sudoku/forum/index.php meaning that no further assassins will be posted here. If you want to join in walkthrough, technique and creation discussions of Killers then you are welcome to register at Rich...

I think it's quite understandable why no one on Richard's forum posted on your creation since sudocue.net and Richard's forum have the same visitors and users, so no one is likely to post twice about it. And variants tend to have less reply posts. Just look at djape.net where lots of puzzles lie aro...

That was different :lol:. If you got the cage sum right then you are halfway through (but definitely not near the finish line). The only thing that bothers me is that to get the exact cage sum, I had to use T&E (trying the other cage sum options) since I didn't immediately see why those other op...

:ot: Though this software talk is a bit off-topic, I'll give you my opinion on SudokuSolver. If you want to let the software solve the Assassin for you then SudokuSolver is the best software I know (I use SumoCue, JSudoku and SudokuSolver on my computer) and it's usually getting better with lots of ...

Sorry to hear that, but Mike's Killer was already quite challenging, so there is already an Assassin that provides fun(?) for the rest of the week ;).
You can post your Killer someday as a future Assassin or maybe more fitting in the Maverick series.

What a tough Killer! It reminded me of Maverick 1 because of the use of (standard) Sudoku techniques (apart from step 6a which also uses cage properties) to crack it though UA 100 was a bit tougher. UA 100 Walkthrough: 1. R123 a) Outies R1 = 17(2) = {89} locked for R2 b) 28(4) = 89{47/56} -> 8,9 loc...

That's quite a plan you've got there but I'll probably try to solve it on my own first but it'll be fun to see what others come up with. I hope it's not something like A60 RP or A85 (original version) [-o<.

That WK was even a bit harder than JC's WK 3. I took me some time to find the important move (step 3h) though the move itself wasn't difficult. My endgame is quite messy so you can stop reading after step 3 (or maybe 4) :lol:. Thanks Nasenbaer, for offering this interesting Killer variant! WK 4 V2 W...

Wow, this happened faster than I expected. I have to say I totally agree with Mike. Even if Ruud came back, I wouldn't know if I could pretend that nothing happened. Of course if he had a really good explanation then things would be different. But for now, it's best to embrace our new (permanent) ho...

I can't say that V1.5 was harder than V1. I used Innies+Outies to crack it where in V1 I used small combo analysis (Killer pairs). Let's see what V2 has to offer. :-k WK4 V1.5 Walkthrough: Windows 1 2 2 2 1 3 3 3 1 4 6 6 6 4 7 7 7 4 4 6 6 6 4 7 7 7 4 4 6 6 6 4 7 7 7 4 1 2 2 2 1 3 3 3 1 5 8 8 8 5 9 9...

This variant should give you a bit more trouble since it doesn't crumble after the first placements. Like in WK 3 is used the Innies and Outies of the Windows to crack it. WK 4 Walkthrough: 1. R6789 a) 24(3) = {789} locked for R9+N8 b) Innies N7 = 23(3) = {689} locked for N7 c) 12(3) = {345} locked for R9+N7 d) 9(3) = {126} locked for N9 e) 20(3) = 9{38/56} -> 9 locked for C3+N7 + R678C234 and R8C4...

(Unofficial) Assassin 99

This assassin should warm you up on basic killer techniques.
