I recall I put out a message when the 1 year mark was hit for the samurai puzzles. I guess Ruud just got burned out with the whole thing. I do miss emailing him and seeing his posts on here. I just hope he is well and getting on ok with whatever endeavor he is now occupied with. I also hope he will ...

All, I was hoping that someone might comment on having a generator for samurai (and other variants) with selectable techniques as discussed in my message above. Apparently there are some programming experts on this forum that have the skills to do this. Any chance? (See me begging) LOL Regards, George

Richard, Your new solver looks very nice!! I hope someone will develop a generator that will allow the creation of the clueless, explosion, and samurai variants with the capability to set the solving techniques that could be contained in the puzzle. This is like SudoCue, which allows certain techniq...

Marlie,

Thank you for the information about Ruud.

I am sorry to hear about your mother. I know it is a very hard thing to deal with. Please be strong. My prayers are with you and your family.

Just curious, how does one get this puzzle into Ruud's Clueless Helper?

Thanks,
George

I notice that new members are being added to the forum group. Did Ruud allow other moderators to add people? If not, then he must be adding them himself.

I, like the others here, pray and hope all is well with him.

George

US Federal Govt has great leave. Annual Leave, after 15 years service, 208 hours a year. 240 hours carry over that can be saved until retirement. Also 10 holidays. You get paid for unused annual leave when you retire. So I had 240, plus all my use or lose from 1007. Nice check! Sick leave is 104 hou...

Hello J-C,

I have a question about your puzzle generator. Does it allow you to select a particular difficulty? For example, if I wanted a jigsaw puzzle, with LoL and x-wings, but not anything higher on the technique food chain, is this possible?

George

Ruud, If you do have options available, then it would be nice if the program remembered them when you exit. Even now, the program always defaults to level 9 when opened. Sudoku has "fish". I don't like fish, so maybe since DominoCue creates pens around the dominoes, perhaps the new techniq...

Two more thoughts. When a hint gives a number of red lines, when one clicks on one of the lines, the other red lines disappear. Is there a way to keep all hint suggestions lit up until the lines are clicked on? Why are there sometimes two shades of green when a hint is shown? I notice a hint that hi...

All, Maybe a simple puzzle, Level 0-3, but there are no hints available from this point. I am sure that there must be a solution, but perhaps the techniques needed haven't been incorporated into the hint system as of yet. Just curious though, shouldn't the program only generate puzzles that can be s...

Hi Ruud, Ok, I'll go first. I have never done these kind of puzzles before, so my comments may need to be discounted because of that fact. 1. I would like to see a "Are you sure?" dialog box when hitting F6. 2. I would like to see an explanation of the hint. I see that it puts a line or li...

Thanks to all for the great list of solving techniques.

OK, to get me started, take Ruud's first puzzle from a few days ago. What is a good first step to get me started?

Thanks,
George

Is there any real logic to solving these kind of puzzles or is it just guesswork as you work your way through them?
