AHHH. Somehow I missed that somewhere. That explains a lot. Would enabling Table Verity, Table Conflict, and Brute Force change the classification for (easier) puzzles that DON'T require these methods?Ruud wrote:For a correct classification, you need to enable all solving techniques.

Sudoku collection manager
I was messing around with the Classify function, and created .SCL files for all of the .SDM files available on the Sudocue site. Then I imported them into a spreadsheet (one .SCL file per sheet) so that I could reorder the data by difficulty score. Would this be of any use to you for your collection...

Confused about Classify function
I ran the classify function on the .SDM files available from the Sudocue site. I'm curious as to why some of the puzzles were skipped. 7704 puzzles were skipped in the Top 50000 file. Maybe this is related, but I get a "Too Difficult Sudoku" error when I open the Top 50000 file--not sure w...

Have you seen Tom Davis's paper on the mathematics of Sudoku? You can find it here:

I would appreciate the addition! I have a number of puzzles from various sources with really descriptive (NOT!) names such as 6834.sdk or 070302.sdk. Each source has its own subdirectory, but the filenames are often identical to other puzzles from a different source. The only way I can keep them str...

Are the Daily Lite puzzles archived anywhere, similar to the Daily Nightmare and the Daily One-Trick Pony?

Display full path of puzzle?
Is there any way to display the full path of the current puzzle in the Sudocue title bar and in the listing of recently opened puzzles?

Cataloging Sudoku puzzles
Is there anything out there that will catalog a collection of Sudoku puzzles (.SDK, .SDM, .SS, etc.)? I would like to see something that will: 1. Calculate difficulty level (and preferrably add it as a Sudocue comment line) 2. Identify/eliminate duplicates, including mere rotations/substitutions 3. ...

User-selectable fonts?
Is there a way to select the font so that I can print a puzzle using, say, musical symbols rather than numbers?

Printing puzzles 4-up
I would like to be able to print four puzzles of my choosing (from a set of .SDK files, a single or set of .SDM files, or generated by Sudocue by difficulty level) on a single sheet of paper. Ideally I would like to be able to cut the sheet in half crosswise and have a 1/2" (1.25cm) margin at t...

Comment lines in .SDK file
Is there a way to have Sudocue preserve the information in the comment lines (those starting with #C, #D, #V, etc.) from the .SDK file in the properties? As it stands, if I add anything to the properties and save the puzzle, the existing info lines are wiped out.
Analyzer?
Is there a program somewhere that will analyze a batch of sudoku (perhaps a single file of 81-character lines, such as an .SDM file) and identify/eliminate duplicates, including mere rotations/substitutions? If Sudocue will do that, someone please tell me how to go about it, because obviously I've m...
