The clueless fisher who uses dynamite for fishing.

Rating based on required solving techniques: Extra Hard My personal rating based on actual solving: Super Hard If you like fishing, this Clueless Explosion is for you. Except for "small fries" like X-Wings no other Wings or Chains are needed, but take absolute all the fishing gear you have...

I though when I had mentioned the "Clueless puzzle" I was referring to the 10th puzzle. No worries about misunderstanding. Due to people having and using different terminologies, misunderstandings happen. As long as it eventually can be figured out it is not a real problem. Under Clueless...

Marlie,

Thanks a lot for calling Ruud again and for taking the time to inform everybody here, in spite the condition of your mother. Sorry to hear that she is not well.

After having examined the solution to the Barely Extra Hard puzzle, I realised that the 10th Clueless grid actually is Center-Dot, i.e. that the 9 cells g10:r2c2   g10:r2c5   g10:r2c8 g10:r5c2   g10:r5c5   g10:r5c8 g10:r8c2   g10:r8c5   g10...

My opinion is that the "good" ones are those which are easy as techniques, but require jumping from one to another of the subjacent sudokus. It took me more than 4 hours  But I really enjoyed it :) you have to jump in and out of the clueless! Be careful what you wish for! Whe...

JC, I think that there are some misunderstandings here, respectively some unfortunate phrasing. No one disputes that all the 9 outer grids in a Clueless Explosion are Center-Dot and that the 10th Clueless grid is NOT Center-Dot. The point is: do you to solve a CE need to take into account that each ...

Maybe we should start thinking about looking for a new home? Assuming Ruud is fit and well (which appears to be the case), he's obviously completely lost interest in doing anything further around here. In particular, I'm concerned about potential new members not being able to join the forum to repl...

jsmif and JLynn, thanks for your kind comments. Which begs the question: Are the clueless puzzles in all your Explosions center-dot? To my recollection, all of Ruud's Explosions that I solved never were. If so, cool. If not, then I guess that's just something to keep us guessing. I have not y...

SCS #2: JSudoku generated + a single Clue by me.

Substitute Clueless Special #2 Again I started with a puzzle generated by JSudoku and once more just added a single clue to "tame" it, i.e. to get rid of many advanced techniques. Rating based on required solving techniques: Tough My personal rating based on actual solving: Hard http://zi...

I found a great many of the samuris out there to be the solve any one portion easily ... Pete, you are absolutely right. But bear in mind that almost all Sudokus found on the Internet are meant to be solved with pen and paper only or a rudimentary online helper (pencil marks at the best, but no hig...
