Hi Lynn

I'm sure Ruud will post it when he gets back from the day job, the one that pays the bills etc. Hang on and have a go at the addiction cure ones if you're desperate. Have another look in the afternoon your time, I recall there was a wee problem with the Explosion last week as well.

Ruud It was incredibly hard, I think it could be left as a long term project. I think that either some players may have missed it as it wasn't posted on the variants page, and others may have tried solving entirely without bifurcation in which case I think they will need more time. (probably a lot m...

I wonder how everyone is getting on with this beauty, it did everything that Ruud promised.

I have solved it by bifurcation, it was a mammoth effort, and there really is only one solution. Now to find a simpler route.

Thanks for your wishes Cathy, she has Alzheimers' so things can be fraught, my dad had it as well. Para As for the 50V2 JSudoku can do it from where I've got it, but the fan on the laptop still goes ballistic. If you carry on with T&E on the two cell cages round the edge you can slowly pick them...

Hi All Sorry I am not able to participate much at the moment in the tags, as Ed knows I have quite a few problems with my mum which are getting worse so I might not be able to chip in as much. Hope to catch up soon with the ones I'm missing. With that in mind my efforts on the V2 of Assassin 50 have...

Thanks to Para and Cathy. Both much more elegant offerings than the hodge/podge of T&E that I have been using on the other one.

Hope to finish V2 tomorrow. Many steps on scrap paper. No more placements yet. Sumocue can still not complete it with pattern checking!

Specially for Cathy. Tryfurcated Walkthrough of V2 up to the first block of placements. JSudoku can solve from here if you wish or carry on yourself, I have removed the main blocking cage combo. But there is still much to do. My goal was to solve the complete perimeter of the puzzles given th...

If you have a look over at the Players Forum you'll find an ongoing discussion about 17/18 clue puzzles under General/Puzzles. Gordon Royle and others are posting info on that forum so you can fill in a bit more on the techniques that Ruud mentioned and the latest findings.

Is anybody having any luck with the V2, without extensive 'tryfurcation'? I may be able to use this method again to crack it, lots  of scribbled notes to write out neatly.

Thanks for the V0.2 Ruud, I did it before I had the beer though. I thought I would point out a little discussion that's going on over at Djape looking at Killer Wings and Loops. You'll find under Other as '3 vanilla techniques: Y-Wing, XY-Wing and XYZ-Wing'. Three of you will already know about it, ...

The Paste facility only works for the Samurai, so it's useful if you have a puzzle from somewhere else. The Clueless are, I think, unique to Ruuds' site. To load a Clueless (and this will work for Samurai as well) select menu option 'Game' then 'Sudocue.net'. The drop down menu let's you pick any of...

Hi Amy The only grids which are centre dot are the 9 outer ones. The blue one is solvable by standard techniques. On the Explosion page Ruud quotes each of the 9 Sudokus is also a Center-Dot Sudoku, because the 9 blue cells must also contain digits 1 through 9 Note he didn't say ten grids. On the bl...

Hi Cathy I guess that's right, I am struggling with it here. Tried making a huge implication chain round the outside, knocks out a few candidates but nothing worth reporting. Think I'll have a look at the standard first maybe I'll get some inspiration from that. The cage patterns are the same. All t...
