I don't care much for print-published puzzles
I first learned Sudoku with the Dummies book, which is a good introduction. However, I much prefer the puzzles I find online, because I can find unlimited puzzles of any difficulty level, rate their difficulty with Sudocue (using a consistent standard), compare ratings among various puzzle makers, and work my way through the puzzles in order of difficulty score. I do prefer to use pencil and paper (so I can take my puzzles "to go"), but single sheets (I print four puzzles to each side of the paper) are easier to carry than books, magazines, or newspapers.
