"It's not Tuesday yet" ??????
The puzzle was late when that was posted - it is now 12 hours late! What do you mean it's not Tuesday yet?
God - I'm addicted, I must be for it to hurt this badly when Ruud is late with our 'fix'.
Ruud..... will there be a #31 posted soon?

Hi Lynn
I'm sure Ruud will post it when he gets back from the day job, the one that pays the bills etc. Hang on and have a go at the addiction cure ones if you're desperate. Have another look in the afternoon your time, I recall there was a wee problem with the Explosion last week as well.

I have 81 brain cells left, I think.

Lynn,
I am not positive, but ... I think this is the url for the site that Pete was referring to:
http://www.djape.net/sudoku/wp/
Steve
P.S. I hope Ruud really was just joshing us when he said he "raced" home (and collected 3 speeding tickets, etc). We ALL appreciate what he does, but it is NOT something that he should be risking life and limb over.

Pete,
Thanks for the link.
What difficulty level does one need to use that will crrespond to the weekly Samurai puzzles that Ruud so graciously provides us each Tuesday?
It would be nice to have a nice Samurai generator, that consistently produces puzzles with the solving techniques used for the weekly samurai puzzles. How does Jaap's site do in this regard?
It is too bad that the parsed sting is not in Ruud's format for the Clueless Helper.
Thanks,
George

I was thinking of using that very string ... but i just set up mine to do the 5 seperate puzzles as strings for the samurai
Jaap numbers them left to right
so
18cells x 6 lines
21 cells * 3 lines
9 cells 3 lines
21 cells 3 lines
18 cells 3 lines
for a string of 369 characters . not 0
ruud uses 5 9x9 puzzles
5 strings of 81 characters 405 0 not .
1 2
3
4 5
I use 5 strings of 81 characters 0 or .
1 2
5
3 4
clueless helper also has a format for storing all the candidates at the time of the save
in clueless, explosion and samurais
so now all i hafta do is figure out how to read the strings in any of those formats and determine which corners overlap before deciding which way to reconstruct them into the 5 different grids..
as for Jaap's diffuctulty levels they are more like sudoku.org.uk than nightmares in the 9x9 but the hi end stuff im not too sure how to order them .... i start guessing with many diabolicals Ruud was talking about numerical ratings many moons ago.....

Pete,
Thanks for your message. I understand the parsed string format is different. I will probably write a routine in basic to take care of that. Yes, I said basic. That is where my programming left off and I still use it.
Your reply to the difficulty levels of Jaap's puzzles really didn't help me. I was trying to relate Jaap's levels to Ruud's samurai puzzle. For example, I want to find samurai puzzles that don't require anything more than an x-wing, but that are more than hidden or naked singles. In otherwords puzzles that are similar to the Moderate to very hard rating that Ruud gives his Samurai puzzles. I am just curious if you have a comparrison along these lines?
Thanks,
George
