X-Wing not very common?

Post by enxio27 »

I finally got myself up to X-Wings in difficulty of technique, but I don't see them very often, at least not ones that cause any digit eliminations. Are they quite rare? Or are the puzzles I'm working on just too easy to see very many of them? (I've been working my way through Ruud's specialty puzzles, but I'm a slow puzzle-solver.)

Seeing finned x-wings is about as easy and they are more common.
In a general sense finned-x can cover x-wing, skyscraper and sashimi-x.

Newspaper puzzles rarely have any of these as required, yet they often help.

The Daily Sudoku "very hard" puzzles require (at most) X-wing, XY-wing or XYZ-wing techniques.

So, X-wings are fairly common in these puzzles.
